Enhancing Marylanders’ Sense of Belonging, Knowledge of Rights, and Involvement in Advocacy for Communities of Educators, UMD Students, and Individuals with Disabilities (EMBRACE-MD)

Each University of Maryland College Park EMBRACE-MD student is paired with an organization in the Maryland Equity Coalition for People with Disabilities (Equity Coalition). Within these organizations, EMBRACE-MD students work alongside Cultural Navigators to support families in marginalized disability communities. EMBRACE-MD students were supported in advocating for Cultural Navigator funding and legislation, which included compiling data, creating and presenting information about Cultural Navigators, meeting with Maryland legislators.
